North Canterbury Mini-Bus Trust
The North Canterbury Mini-Bus Trust was set up in 1986 to fill a need for specialised transport in North Canterbury for the elderly and disabled.
The Trust now owns and operates 12 vehicles (cars and mini-buses) including 4 with wheelchair hoists and 4 are also equipped with defibrillators.
Every month, the Trust provides approximately 800 journeys for people who are unable to drive themselves. The service has become a vital support system for local elderly and disabled residents, allowing them to continue living in their own homes, maintain community connections, and retain their independence. In rural towns such as Oxford and Cust, where public transport is virtually absent, the Minibus Trust plays an especially crucial role.

On-Demand Vehicle Hire
The Trust holds a rental license, which enables our fleet to be hired out for individuals or groups to use.
We operate a total of 12 vehicles (cars and mini-buses). We have 4 vehicles available with wheelchair hoists and 4 are fitted with defibrillators.
Must meet criteria: 60+ years, disabled or disadvantaged.

This service requires a booking two days in advance.
We have 4 vehicles available with wheelchair hoists.

Hospital & Specialist Shuttle
Return journeys to Christchurch from Rangiora/Kaiapoi (can include a support person). Also includes visiting whānau or a friend in hospital (1 hour max visiting period).
Transport is subject to availability and costs may vary if the trip is shared or pick up is outside of Rangiora/Kaiapoi.
To make a booking, please call the Citizens Advice Bureau on 03 313 8822, at least two weekdays prior to your appointment date.
Assistance may also be available from Cust 027 477 9573 and Oxford 03 312 3006.
